All films must be submitted through FilmFreeway. Filmmakers can make an account and upload their project, including details on genre, runtime, and a synopsis.

We accept submissions that match the following categories:

•Narrative Feature (runtime over 40 min)

•Documentary Feature (runtime over 40 min)

•Narrative Short

•Documentary Short

•Animated Film

•Experimental Film

•Music Video

Student films matching any of these categories are welcomed.

Submissions open July 1, 2024. Enjoy discounted submission fees until the earlybird deadline.

Submissions fees are utilized to ensure quality submissions and help fund the festival. All fees are managed through FilmFreeway and directed toward Benson Film Festival operations.

The Benson Film Festival selection committee is comprised of local filmmakers, film critics, artists, arts administrators, creative community members, and community leaders. Each submission is viewed by multiple judges as well as the festival staff. Committee members judge all film selections and make recommendations for inclusion in the festival.
